Jacqueline showed the group how to put a light socket into one of her lantern sculptures. She used a low voltage small fixture and explained that she had purchased a "spider" from a lighting supplier in San Rafael, North Bay Lighting. The spider simply is like a metal washer with 4 metal rods radiating out which she uses to hold the light socket in the sculpture. She said that you can buy "lamp kits" in a hardware store or lighting supply. Here are a couple of photos of Jacqueline holding her light fixture components:
I am an art teacher at Redwood High School in Larkspur, Ca. My background is in painting and I teach Ceramics and Intro to Art. I am National Board Certified in Fine Art and I have a M.Ed. I've learned so much from workshops that I have taken over the years and my students have directly benefited. It seemed like the right time to put this program together to bring workshops to teachers locally.
